Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be present at the inspection?
The short answer is no. HomeStar Inspections does recommend you be present so we can teach you about your home. However, our reports are detailed enough that being present isn’t a necessity.
How long does the inspection take?
2 hours is the average. Allow an additional hour for every 1,000 SF and if additional services are ordered.
How long until I get my report?
We strive to produce the home inspection report onsite. The ancillary reports such as drain, wind mitigation, 4 point and termite are within 24 hours. Mold assessment reports can be up to 1-2 business days.
What items on the report should I concentrate on first?
We recommend addressing ALL safety issues immediately! Followed by any energy savings projects such as insulation, windows, etc., or possible insurance savings recommendations such as hurricane protection, updated roof, etc.
Do you know anyone that can fix the items on the report?
Given HomeStar Inspections extensive coverage area, we cannot recommend anyone for repairs. It’s best to ask your agent and/or go to yellowpages.com and type in the service you’re looking for along with your zip code.
